All of them are my original designs for a story I’ve written that takes place in a digital world called “Cyberia”. The characters seen here are avatars from the digital world. Painted in Procreate. This piece was inspired from my appreciation of boardgames. I wanted to create a world that looks like it belongs on some kind of crazy game land you would see in a boardgame like Candyland. In particular I took some ideas from games like Canvas and Decorum. Feeling kinda emotional lately so I made an animated doodle in Procreate Dreams. I feel much better now that I have gotten that out of my system. Really enoying the Cocteau Twins old album “Heaven or Las Vegas!” It’s got - good mix of tracks on there.

This is a reanimated clip of a video I saw in my youth. “Penndragon” by Spacejelly left a huge impact on me as a budding animator. With the recent release of Procreate Dreams, I decided to learn how to use the program but reanimating an old favorite. Animating this was so much fun. I love the brushes I can paint with in Procreate Dreams. It is a dream come true that I get to effortlessly throw together a set of animated clips.

I’m eager to see how it looks with more updates!

While putting this together, I realized how often I used blue in my paintings. 2022 marks my “year of blue.”

This year was a great year for me. I felt as though I developed my skills as a painter. Each piece was an experiment to find my artistic voice. This is the first time in my life that I feel as though I had a productive year for making art. It’s wonderful to see everything come together.

I want to add that none of this was derived from AI. It’s all real, baby!
